GLOSSARY:

  • Registered Massage Therapy is a safe and effective regulated healthcare profession used to assess and treat soft tissue (muscle, fascia, ligaments and tendons) and joints. This manual therapy may also treat and prevent injury, pain and other physical disorders. Massage Therapy can provide relief for a variety of issues including: Migraines, whiplash, surgery, back pain, tendonitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, sports injuries and pregnancy (also pre and post partum) and stress.

  • Myofascial Release is an effective treatment for many physical imbalances and disorders, fascia is a connective tissue which forms a continuous web throughout our anatomy, hugging and winding around and through muscle systems, nervous system tissues, blood vessels, organs and more. Because of its interconnected nature, any disruption in our fascia due to inflammation, injury, surgery and disuse may effect other, seemingly unrelated areas. Myofascial release addresses areas of fascial adhesion or lack of natural mobility with various applications of 3 dimensional tissue-specific pressure and allows for greater ease throughout the body.

  • Craniosacral Therapy stems from roots in osteopathy. In my practice I often assess and treat the fluid, membranous, organ and fascial systems within the context of the nervous system and other body systems. Listening and providing support for the bodies innate wisdom…

  • Visceral Therapy (also known as visceral manipulation) is a hands on technique for assessing and treating viscera and its fascial connections in order to improve structure and function. This treatment can be very beneficial for digestive issues (nausea, reflux, constipation, adhesions), pre or post surgery, pregnancy, spinal and pelvic imbalances.
